Take Action
Remember to keep writing down any glimmers of new perceptions so you can remember them. If you donât act on your insights right away, they can fade or you can begin to doubt them. Put them into action and watch how things can improve.
To give you more sensitivity to how the Cut-Thru process works, read the âInside the Cut-Thru Techniqueâ section in chapter 6. Often just reading more about it helps people get more release.
Set a Practice Program
Youâll be surprised at how many issues can be Cut-Thru in only a few sittings. Others will take time. Keep going for it. If you have difficulty, experiment with the order of the steps. Some people with traumatic or deeply charged issues find it helpful to first do steps 1 and 2, then steps 5 and 6, to increase coherence and dissolve significance so they can achieve a more objective, neutral understanding in steps 3 and 4. The tendency is to try to jump to a mind understanding without shifting enough underlying feeling into coherence so that intuition can come in.
Find a place where you can Cut-Thru with no interruptions or distractions from other people, telephones, or pets for ten to fifteen minutes (or less, if you arrive at your objective sooner). It doesnât take long to get a release or insight if you are in a peaceful and genuine frame of mind. Approach practice sessions with a genuine heart attitude, instead of trying to find a quick fix to get the monkey off your back. The latter wonât give you the coherence you need to Cut-Thru.
Many people find it helpful to practice the Heart Lock-In technique, given in chapter 6, before their Cut-Thru practice. Heart Lock-In helps you find that more peaceful and genuine place. It helps you stay in your heart through locking into and sending positive attitudes to your feelings, your body, other people, or issues. Practicing Heart Lock-In for even five minutes will increase your power to sustain coherence and get back to coherence faster when you get out of balance. As you make genuine efforts to practice a more coherent, peaceful state, more of your real spirit can come in to help.
Practice Cut-Thru five days a week to build your coherence power. You can do it more often of course, but set yourself a goal and regular practice program and stick with it for a month. Thatâs not a long time, considering how much more time youâve invested in anxiety issues. Commitment to a Cut-Thru practice plan is an investment in yourself and in taking individual responsibility.
To make your practice simpler, you can tape-record the steps of Cut-Thru at a pace that feels right to you. Then, you can listen to the recording and guide yourself through the steps without getting distracted by reading them. Have a pencil and a Cut-Thru worksheet in front of you, and pause the recording to write down your feelings and perceptions after each step.
